Pop Culture Toy Review: Matty’s Collectors Voltron

I originally wasn’t going to do a review of this but my god this thing is awesome and massive.  Here is a quick toy review for the first and maybe last time.  Last year I joined two clubs from Matty’s.  DC one and Voltron one.  DC one has been nice except for no begs to put figures on walls.  Voltron one is what where are here to talk about.

Positives:
-The size.  My god it is big.  I mean massive.  I don’t know how big it is but at least 20 inches or more.   Matty’s web site says 23 inches and I believe it. It’s huge.  I will include a photo to show how big this thing is.
-The look.  The lions and figures look like their anime counter part.  Mattel did a very good job getting the look of both human figures and lions down.  It shows.  Even boxes one taken out of the white outer boxes were nice.  Designs were beautiful and if I had the room would have displayed them that way.
-The articulation (Thank you matty’s collectors for right spelling).  This thing has massive amount.  From human figures to lions each having ones.  You can pose it several different ways.
-The Blazing sword.  My god it’s massive on it’s own once put together.  I mean massive.  Matty’s could have sold this on it’s own for $60 and would have worked.  It feels like a separate toy on it’s own and fits pretty good into hand of lion.
-Sven.  As a member of the club you got a Sven as his own figure on a blister card.  Awesome!
-Each figure fit into lions nicely except for pidge.  I had little problem getting him but fine other wise.

Negatives:
-Some of the lion’s limbs don’t stay in place like they should.  Meaning when you try to keep a leg in place for voltron form it keeps popping out.
-Instructions are not always clear and most of the time feel like you don’t need them.
-Size I would imaging will be hard for some people to find place to display it.
-Keys were suppose to open the lions for humans figures but they didn’t always work or fit.

?:
-It’s not metallic.  I think different type then usually voltron but it’s not bad.  Will it hold up over the years.  We will see and that is why is a question mark.

Overall this thing is awesome.  Sadly all the lions are currently out of stock from matty’s.  If you can find them on ebay for a good price or wait till special sale where it is back in stock then get them.  It is worth it.  If you don’t want the massive version there is smaller Blazing Sword Voltron that does have nice articulation too.
